We had the best home buying experience imaginable, despite the competitive market of the 2020-2021 / covid era, and we owe it all to Kari Wilner. Kari provided a steady hand and invaluable market expertise throughout the process of searching for our dream home at a time when homes were closing well above ask and without contingencies. Throughout it all, there was NEVER a question as to whether she had our best interest at heart, and we NEVER felt as if we were "just another commission." Kari truly cared about finding the perfect house for our growing family – which she did. She was organized, diligent, and thoughtful. She also had impressive and extensive contacts throughout the region, which are necessary in this competitive market. Kari listened, searched, refined, and then turned over every stone in our favorite neighborhoods until she found “the one.” When it came time for offers, counter offers and escalation clauses, Kari was impressive. She calmly and confidently walked us through our options and provided her expert guidance without pushing us out of our comfort zone. When we were in contract, Kari and her spectacular team seamlessly coordinated every single vendor, inspector, lender representative and insurance estimator needed for closing as we tap danced through the closing process. I can't praise Kari Wilner enough. We worked with her on three houses. As seller's agent on our suburban house, buyer's agent for our son, and buyer's agent as we moved back into the city. When we sold, she helped us to decide what to fix up to maximize the value of our home, and she got us multiple offers above asking in two days on the market (this was three years ago when the market was much cooler). Her attention to detail, and incredible responsiveness, were unlike any other real estate agent we ever worked with. She is incredibly diligent on contract and logistic matters. When we shopped for our next home, she showed us several houses, and evaluated them with a critical eye, steering us away from places with problems (unpermitted additions with workmanship flaws). She knew she was making more work for herself if we didn't buy immediately, but cheerfully put our interests first to keep us out of bad deals. Kari is totally trustworthy, optimistic, and positive. Kari helped my wife and I buy our first family home, and she was a phenomenal guide throughout the entire process. She worked with us for nearly a year, spending hours with us visiting properties on weekends and evenings. She was always available and always flexible. She showed us nearly a hundred properties and was infinitely patient. Kari never made us feel pressured or like we were inconveniencing her. She reached out to us to check in when we took breaks from looking and just to see how we were doing. Kari is very personable and got to know us as people. Along the way, she did small supportive things for us to make us feel like members of the family. In what was a times a stressful process, she knowledgably and confidently walked us through each step of the way, teaching us what to look for in houses and much more. For every house, she examined carefully and provided thoughtful comments based on what we were looking for. She is a wealth of information and was very effective negotiating on our behalf. We interviewed several local realtors after deciding to sell our home of 30 years. Kari was highly recommended by a friend who is also a realtor in NYC. When we met Kari, we were impressed by how professional, well prepared, organized, and knowledgeable she was of the market. Kari priced our house confidently and successfully. Kari’s team, including her assistant, Keica, her designer/stager, and photographer were professional and talented. She also tapped into her network of contractors to perform improvements before putting the house on the market, as well as assisting in post-inspection tasks. We received multiple bids after the first weekend the house was listed and accepted an offer within a week. Kari and her team handled every detail flawlessly and were always available when we needed advice or council. This transaction took place during the Covid 19 Pandemic. Even with the fast changing policies and regulations around Real Estate and the Pandemic, Kari didn’t miss a beat! We highly recommend Kari to anyone looking to sell or buy a home.
