I used Mike Mondy as both my buyer’s and seller’s agent for the property I just sold. While I appreciated some of the convenience that came with that continuity, I can’t say the experience was smooth or fully transparent. There were moments I felt like decisions were being made around me, not with me — especially when it came to the contractor recommendation (One Twelve Construction LLC) whom they had a working relationship on many other projects. I went with the contractor partly because of the ability to pay at closing. I had to push back on several items they were insistent about (such as paying certain amounts updront the day before work was to begin even though we had an agreement that contractor would be paid at closing), and I didn’t feel like my concerns were welcomed. It often felt like I was being managed instead of represented. My realtor had missed an important walkthrough of my house with the contractor at the beginning of the project, he dismissed my concerns on other issues, made plans without my involvement, didn’t push back on the buyers continuous delays, etc. it got to the point I had to give an ultimatum: close this week or I’m walking and relisting with someone else (which isn’t an easy thing to do). Mind you; I never got a reply to that email to that ultimatum. It was giving “let’s just close and get the check and dismiss the concerns”. All in all, I did end up selling my home, but I wouldn’t choose the same team again. I’d encourage future clients to ask more questions up front and make sure they’re comfortable with every referral and decision, because once you’re in, it’s hard to slow the process down without friction. In all honesty, Mike is a great person but I wasn’t happy with the lack of communication and professionalism, and nonchalant tone when things were happening that I wasn’t happy with. I think some realtors forget the reason they are getting paid is because we chose them. So you are working for us and you should do your absolute best to represent us since you are getting paid. Take time to hear concerns, be present and be responsive. I wish him the best of luck but, respectfully, I won’t be using Mike again. He seems successful so that’s good but I would just recommend changing how you do business and not get comfortable because u make sells. At the end of the day, it’s your job to represent the buyers/sellers.

Mike did a great job assisting us to buy a house. The process went smoothly. Although we helped a family member buy a house , Mike was always responsive and made sure the process went steadily.

Muchas gracias Mike

Mike is the best!! Helped us find our first home for us and our fur babies!! He was with us every step of the way and was always there to answer any questions we had and take us to look at any property according to our crazy schedules! Mike definitely makes the process so much easier because of how helpful he is and how responsive he is at all times. He definitely is knowledgeable about Maryland and helped us pick a location that will work for us!
